Enel Distribución Chile, in alliance with the environmental consultant Chileweather, has created the project "More Energy for Climate Action" to raise awareness among communities around different topics related to climate change. This activity includes a series of 28 talks by renowned meteorologist Gianfranco Marcone, along with professionals from the Medium- and Low-Voltage Operating Unit at Enel Distribución. They discuss the mitigation actions the company is implementing to respond to and address the adverse effects of climate change on its electrical distribution networks and how these bolster the continuity of the energy supply.
Thanks to this initiative, participants learn ways to proactively address the consequences of this environmental phenomenon, contributing to reducing and modifying consumption habits to pave a path where we can take on climate action together. The talks also propose the importance of a Circular Economy as a strategy that covers the company's entire value chain, donating 28 composters made from discarded wood at the Cerro Navia substation in alliance with Enel Transmisión. To date, 1,000 kg of wood has been reused.
In 2021, the community participated in 21 talks, including over 900 people involved in social organizations and educational establishments within our concession area. The program was also posted on the company's YouTube channel, reaching over 300,000 unique views.
