Understanding the different factors that affect people's quality of life and as a way to contribute in this dimension towards the development of local communities, Enel Distribución holds workshops in neighborhood associations to teach participants about some aspects of universal health and well-being coverage in a comprehensive manner, in relation to the goals of Sustainable Development Goal No. 3. The purpose of this initiative is to reinforce the capacity in terms of early warning, reduction, and management of health risks in the city and communities in which we operate.
The contents that are addressed mainly are healthy food habits, high risk diseases among different age groups, and the prevention of alcohol and drug use.
Complementing the aforementioned themes, those attending are instructed on how to take active breaks at home, promoting physical activity with basic everyday elements as a way to improve physical condition and health.
We carry out this initiative jointly with PROMONDO, which has a multidisciplinary professional team in order to address these issues in a complete and comprehensive way, seeking to be a concrete contribution to the health and quality of life of the residents of different districts of Santiago.
In 2019, during the development of our workshop program, 1,228 beneficiaries participated.
Through this initiative, we contributed to SDG No. “Health and Well-being”, by educating our communities so that they may learn how to lead healthier lifestyles, in relation to the prevention of high risk diseases, drug and alcohol use, as well as the benefits of regular physical activity for one’s quality of life.
