At Enel Distribución Chile, we are committed to developing and spreading a culture of safety among our collaborators, customers, and community. For this reason, we have carried out a series of online and in-person conversations around preventing electrical hazards, with the primary goal of improving people's knowledge and information, considering that prevention is one of the critical elements that allow for safe and reliable access to electricity service. This is aimed at preventing, reducing, and ultimately eliminating third-party accidents.
This talk is directed toward residents in our concession area. It includes a video shared on our social media sites to inform and orient communities around the safe use of energy.
The company's risk prevention specialists design all audiovisual material and contents of the talk to promote self-care, reduce and avoid hazards due to a lack of knowledge when manipulating electric installations at home, and prevent accidents resulting from the adulteration and improper use of electric appliances.
The didactic materials used in the workshops are designed to present, practically and educationally, the most relevant information regarding electrical accident prevention and shorten the information gap among residents and customers.
In 2021, in coordination with the municipalities, social organization leaders, and educational centers, 22 workshops were held for over 500 people, prioritizing those sectors or communities that reported a higher number of accidents. Additionally, the workshop was posted online to reach more people, with nearly 400,000 unique views between 2020 and 2021.
The topics addressed are electrical hazards and grid safety, sharing our company's technical knowledge with functional and territorial organizations, building administrators, and residents in the communities within our concession area.
