Taltal Wind Farm
Made up of 33 wind turbines of 3 MW each, the Taltal wind farm has an installed capacity of 106 MW. The 300 GWh that it can generate annually is equivalent to some 170,000 Chilean families' energy needs and prevent 200,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
The energy it produces is injected into the Central Interconnected System (SIC). It is connected through the Paposo substation, located about 50 kilometers from the park.
Enel Green Power was awarded the concession of this public land for the development of the wind farm in 2012, after the first public tender organized between the Ministry of National Assets and the Ministry of Energy.
