La Silla Photovoltaic Plant
This innovative photovoltaic plant is a project developed for the La Silla Observatory, belonging to the European Organization for Research in Astronomy in the Southern Hemisphere - European Southern Observatory - ESO.
La Silla has an installed capacity of approximately 2 MW and is in the commune of La Higuera, Coquimbo Region.
This plant will provide 25 years of clean energy for the observatory. It will use three different photovoltaic modules, two of which are of the latest generation and achieve an efficiency rate above 15% compared to conventional ones.
