Isla Hydroelectric Power Plant

The Isla power plant, owned by Enel Generación Chile S.A., is located 105 km. east of Talca, Maule Region, and is perhaps the most ambitious of all the power plants in terms of its scale and architectural configuration. It is composed of a mixed structure of concrete and steel, with a regular rhythm of trusses and pillars, being a clear exponent of the transition in modern architecture of the 1960s. It has an installed power of 70 MW.
