Azabache Power Plant

Located in the Antofagasta Region, 10 kilometers from Calama, the Azabache Hybrid Power Plant has an installed capacity of 61 MW and can produce more than 184 GWh per year, avoiding the emission of more than 135,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Specifically, we can find the plant in the Valle de Los Vientos wind farm (90 MW). The distance between wind turbines allowed enough space for a solar farm, and the use of familiar roads and facilities between both wind farms, such as the Operation and Maintenance building or Substation, expanded cooperation in their construction and operation.
