- Atlas Copco has installed a new solar photovoltaic system, allowing them to produce renewable energy. Moreover, the plan will cover 70% of their energy needs, leading to a positive environmental impact throughout their value chain and stabilizing their electricity costs.
Santiago, December 07, 2023.- Atlas Copco inaugurated a new 117 KWp solar photovoltaic plant at their facilities in the municipality of Renca. Enel X implemented the plant as part of Atlas Copco's efforts to increase the use of renewable energy in their systems and operations.
The project involved installing 450 Wp high-efficiency solar panels integrated with a 100 kW three-phase inverter system. The estimated annual energy production is 165.9 MWh.
The photovoltaic plant's energy production will enable Atlas Copco to generate approximately 70% of the facility's annual consumption, which will stabilize its electricity costs and positively impact the value chain for its customers.

The solar photovoltaic system will prevent the emission of about 62 tons of CO2e per year, which is comparable to planting 155 trees or taking 16 cars out of circulation yearly.
Enel X executed the project through the "turnkey" modality, which consists of engineering, SEC process, labor supply, materials, equipment, and commissioning of the photovoltaic generation system with integration of the supplier's electrical system.
