Santiago, January 31, 2023 - Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index 2023 confirms Enel Chile for a second consecutive year, measuring publicly traded companies' diversity and inclusion performance. This result reflects the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion, thanks to implementing actions and programs that help close gender gaps in the energy sector and progress in sustainable development.
The Index has a global reach, representing 45 countries and including, for the first time, companies headquartered in Luxembourg, Ecuador, and Kuwait. Member companies represent a variety of sectors as of 2022, the main ones being finance, technology, and utilities.
"We are proud to be highlighted again for our commitment to diversity and gender equality. This recognition motivates us to continue promoting these values and integrating them into our daily operations, especially in a strategic, highly technical industry that still has a deficient female presence," said Fabrizio Barderi, general manager of Enel Chile.
"We congratulate the companies included in GEI 2023," said Peter T. Grauer, president of Bloomberg and founding chairman of the U.S. 30% Club. "We continue to see increased interest from members globally, reflecting the shared goal of transparency in gender-related metrics."
The Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index incorporates publicly traded companies with an overall assessment of transparency and performance in gender initiatives across 11 sectors. The evaluation is based on an internationally standardized methodology, which measures companies' progress in five pillars: leadership and talent pipeline, gender equality and pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and women-friendly branding.
The Enel Group - Enel Chile's parent company - was included for the fourth consecutive time, as was Endesa.
