Salvatore Bernabei holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata” and an MBA from the Milan Polytechnic. He participated in an INSEAD International Executive Program in Singapore and Paris, and the Leadership for Energy Management Program at the SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan) and IESE (Barcelona).
Mr. Bernabei joined the Enel Group in 1999 as logistics Manager for Enel Distribuzione and, later, as Supply Chain Manager, Project Manager and Contract Manager for geothermal and wind power projects in Italy. After this, he moved to Spain to work simultaneously as Project Execution Manager of Enel Unión Fenosa and European Manager of Health, Safety and the Environment of Enel Green Power. Between November 2010 and October 2011, he was the Coordinator of Engineering and Construction Resources for Iberia and Latin America, and ultimately went on to become Head of Operations and Maintenance. In January 2013, he moved to Chile to take on the position of Country Manager for Chile and the Andean Countries for Enel Green Power and subsequently Head of Renewable Energies Latin America. From May 2017 to September 2020, he was appointed Group's Head of Global Procurement.
He is currently CEO of Enel Green Power and Head of Enel Green Power and Thermal Generation.
Mr. Bernabei is also President of Res4Africa Foundation (Renewable Energy Solutions for Africa) as of October 2020.
