Marcelo Castillo Agurto is a Civil, Industrial and Electrical Engineer from the Catholic University of Chile and holds an MBA from the University of Navarra, Spain. He has been a lecturer for more than 15 years in Energy Regulation and Management at numerous universities and business schools.
Mr. Castillo in his 34 years dedicated to Enel has held various positions, fulfilling functions in Latin America, Spain, Italy, United States, Africa, Asia, Middle East, etc.
He joined the commercial area of the Enel Group in 1990, later becoming assistant manager in subsidiaries of Endesa Chile. Subsequently, he served as Deputy Director of Energy Management, Deputy Commercial Director and Head of Analysis of Endesa Chile. In 2002, from Spain, he was Deputy Director of Business in Endesa's Joint Venture with Morgan Stanley in London for the European market and trading of electricity and gas. In 2002, also from Spain, he became Director and Vice President of Regulation for Latin America, a position he held for almost 11 years. In 2013 from Italy he became head of International Regulatory and Antitrust Affairs and a year later he would occupy the position of head of Business Development of Enel Grids which he held until October 2023.
Marcelo Castillo Agurto is currently head of Regulatory and Institutional Affairs for Enel, Rest of the World, covering 27 countries throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
